Beehive

Ground Floor/1 Molesworth Street, Pipitea, Wellington 6011, New Zealand

1 recommendation

Designed by British architect Sir Basil Spence and completed in 1981, the Beehive is one of the most recognisable buildings in New Zealand. Free guided tours run daily from the visitor centre — you'll hear political anecdotes, see the Parliamentary art collection, and if you're lucky, step into the Debating Chamber itself. The Twilight Tour includes a three-course meal at Bellamys. The Victorian Gothic Parliamentary Library next door dates back to 1883. Democracy, served with style.
