At 445 metres, it's the most visible high point in the Wellington landscape — made even more obvious by the TV transmission tower perched on top. Multiple tracks start from Khandallah, Broadmeadows, and Johnsonville, with the direct route to the summit just 1.5km and about 30 minutes. On a clear day the views stretch to the Kaikōura Ranges and Mt Tapuae-o-Uenuku in the South Island. Quick enough for a lunch break, rewarding enough for a proper adventure.
